david wark griffithe sinemanin babasi unvanini getirecek filmlerden ikincisidir.o zamanlar korkunc bir butce olarak gorulen 300.000 dolara malolmus ve gisede batmistir.buyuleyici goruntulere ve zihin acici bir kurguya sahiptir.eisensteinı fritz langı cok fazla etkilemistir. bir epik film ornegi olarak,1916 yilinda cekilmesine ragmen gunumuz sinemasinin hala vazgecemedigi bir takim teknikler barindirmaktadir. genis plan,plan sekans,yuze yakin kamera gibi gunumuzde "ee nolmus yani" tepkisi verebileceginiz ancak donemi icin buyuk buluslardir bunlar. tipki kraftwerkin muzigi gibi^*

derler ki, griffith aslinda bu filmi degil, sadece filmin cagdas hikayesi olan mother and the law'u cekecektir. fakat bu esnada cabiria'yi seyreder, tarihi epik olayina ozenir ve de boylece diger bolumleri ekler. taviani biraderler'in good morning babylon'u da buna gonderme yapar, iki italyan kardes hollywood'a gelip, intolerance'in babil setlerini kurarlar. bu film, hatta babil bolumu, ayni zamanda tarihin belki ilk ve kesinlikle en muhtesem crane shot'larindan birini icerir.
