çoğu meşhur blues parçası gibi kökeni 1930'ların delta blues akımına dayanır. en meşhur ve kanımca en güzel versiyonu muddy waters'ın rollin' stone adıyla yaptığı coverıdır. the rolling stones da ismini bu parçadan almıştır.

buddy guy ve junior wells beraber soylediklerinde akustik tadindan yinmeyen, harmonikasına doyum olmayan bir bluescuktur. hendrix versiyonunda ise davullara yuklenilir, gitar partisyonlari alir goturur adami..
