iskoçya'nın gayriresmi milli marşlarından biri^**. bu marş genelde askeri törenlerde kullanılırken flower of scotland uluslararası spor müsabakalarında kullanılmaktadır. god save the queen'in yalakacılığından kat be kat daha onurlu marştır adanın onurlu halkı için.

yine britanya kolonilerinde de askeri tören ve resmi cenaze törenlerinde bu marş çalınır. hatta amerikan filmlerinde bir devlet görevlisinin cenaze sahnesinde gaydalarla çalınan müzik budur.

bunun yanı sıra amerikalı pop grubu ames brothers 1958 yılında bu bestenin üzerine güfte yazmışlardır, üçüncü versiyon olarak da bunu ekleyelim;

den standhaftige tinsoldat sobaya dusmus yanarken fonda bu sarki/mars caliyordu, kucukken yilin bu zamanlarinda babam tarafindan hediye edilmis bir h.c andersen masal kasetinde. o zamanlar masal kasetine sahip olmak bir cocuk icin cok buyuk prestij kaynagidi. sonra nokia ya da panasonic telefonlarda zil tonu olarak duymustum. hem kendisi acikli, hem o masalin en acikli yerinde giriyor ortaya, hem de cocukluk ve aile ozlemini en yuksek seviyeye cikariyor dusunun artik her dinleyisimde nasil etkilendigimi. bi 30 dakika hcbisey yapamaz halde mal gibi kaliyorum oyle. masal kasetindeki versiona en yakini bu:

the devil s brigade isimli güzel ikinci dünya savaşı filminde başıbozuk amerikalılar kendi aralarında kavga ederken yaklaşan kanada birliği bu marşla karargaha girer. çok keyifli bir sahnedir.
