şarkılara şöyle bir baktığımızda, türkçe'deki "yar" ile aynı anlama gelen sözcük.

sözgelişi, cat stevens'ın "oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world" şeklindeki kulaklara küpe olmuş dizesini, "dünya zalim olmuş yarim" şeklinde türkçe'ye çevirebiliriz.

birçok ingilizce şarkıda rastladığımız "come on baby" ise, "hadi yarim, hadi hadi yarim"in karşılığıdır.

"baby come to me" vardır bi de... bizde "beri gel yarim" olarak geçer.

mesela britney spears'ın "baby one more time" adlı unutulmaz nameleri, "ben yarime doyamadım" şeklinde algılanmalı ve algılatılmaladır.
