yakin donem yazarlar ve kitap secimleri fazlasiyla abartili buldugum liste. 3-5 isim uzerine donmus durmus genellikle, hemi de kardesim hic mi 1600 yilindan once okunmasi gereken kitap yok sorununu asamamis durumda. buna ragmen orta-uzak donem secimleri gayet yerinde olmus gibi duruyor. bitirmem icin 400 firindan fazla ekmek yemem gerektiginide esefle ogrenmis bulundugum liste, hadi hayilirsi.

nihayet türkçeye çevrilen kitapta türk edebiyatından listeye alınan 3 roman var. yaşar kemal' in ince mehmet'i i, orhan pamuk'un beyaz kale'si ve latife tekin in berji kristin çöp masalları. ayrıca, hayat bir kervansaray romanıyla emine sevgi özdamar isminde bir romancımız daha var listede ama o kitaplarını almanca yazmayı tercih ediyor.

oğuz atay'ın olmadıgı latife tekin'in oldugu bir liste. latife tekin'i de severim gerçi fakat yüzyıllık yalnızlık uyarlaması hakkında derin araştırmalar yapıp "oha bu kadar da olmaz!" dedikten sonra sogudum kendisinden.

bugün aldım bu kitabı. kapanacağı veya el değiştireceği söylenen bir kitapçıda yüzde 40 indirim ve 4 taksit olayı olunca gerisini hatırlamıyorum...şu an aynı yoldan elde ettiğim diğer bir kardeşi ile birlikte (bkz: ölmeden önce görmeniz gereken 1001 film) yanımda duruyor. insan kendini ev-arsa, sanki bir gayrımenkul almış gibi hissediyor. o kadar yani.

genel olarak beğendim ben bu kitabı, yalnız bir yandan hikayecileri kaale almayarak, diğer bir yandan ise listeye bir hikaye koyarak abuk bir çelişki içinde olduğunu göstermiştir. çehov, o henry gibi hikaye yazan edebilyatçıları yok saymakta bu kitap. yani roman yazanların yaptığı edebiyat da hikaye yazanlar kasaplık, manavlık mı yapıyor. çehov uyduruk kaydırık roman yazanlardan çok mu daha aşağı kalitede. o hikayeler de toplanıp kitap halinde basılmıyor mu? şimdi çehov'un eserlerini okumak isteseniz kitap halinde bulabilirsiniz ancak. hadi diyelim hikayecileri katmamışlar, peki listede bulunan edgar allan poe'nun "the pit and the pendulum" hikayesine ne demeli?

margaret atwood'un tonlarca kitabini icererek beni epey sevindirmisse de ayn rand'in hicbir kitabini dahil etmemesiyle oldukca sasirtmistir. ben hic sevmem rand hanimi o ayri da, yine de 20. yuzyilin onemli yazarlarindan bence kendisi. tek bir yazarin alti yedi kitabi alinacagina listeye bir kitap da rand'dan alinsa olurmus. listede yeralmayan pek cok iyi yazar yok mu, var, ama amerikalilarin ayn rand aski goz onune alininca insan yine de rand'in yokluguna takilmaktan kendini alamiyor.hicranli edit: kitabin yazari ingilizmis, layouter soyledi, dagildim mahvoldum, bir de ayn rand icin bu hallere dusmek iyice acikli, daglarda inzivaya cekilmek istiyorum.

7-8 tane philip roth kitabi (tamam buna), yine bi o kadar da paul auster kitabi (nereroluyor?) var burda. ayrice susamurlarinin hayatiyla ilgili bi kitap da var. michael chabon yok. karsisina gecip gecip agliyorum (chabon yok diye degil, genel olarak). ayrica o var, bu yok derken "taassuk-i talat ve fitnat nerede, cok anglosentrik olmus, tolstoy'a buyuk haksizlik yapildi, sahaya sis indi" soylemine katki yaptigim icin utanc icindeyim ama 1001 kitap, gozardi etmek cok zor. tamamlamak icin susamurlariyla ilgili kitap okumam gereken listeye gereken saygiyi gosteremem.

"1001 books you must read before you die" adlı kitap da bu kitapların içinde yer almalıdır, ama almamakta ve kendini bir anlamda 1002'nci ilan etmektedir... zira bu kitabı okumazsak diğer 1001 kitap adına bir yol göstericimiz olamaz, yani onları okumak için illa ki bunu da okumak icap eder... bu bir ironi midir? bir strateji midir? bir alçak gönüllülük müdür? atlanmış bir ayrıntı mıdır ve hatta mükemmellik ayrıntılarda mı saklanbaç oynamaktadır? dur şimdi... düşün şimdi...!

şu yok şu neden var demeden önce, neden yabancı baskısında bazı kitaplar var iken türkçe baskısında başka kitapların olmasını anlayamadığım listedir.mesela; orhan pamuk kitapları birçok dile çevrilmiş bir yazar ama yabancı baskısında yok iken türkçe baskısında var.tamam bazı kitapların türkçe baskısı yok onların yerine dayayın bunlara birkaç türk yazar diye mi düşünmüşler? hem mesela milan kundera'nın yabancı baskısında 4 kitap varken türkçe baskısında yanılmıyorsam 2 kitap vardır.neyse efendim ama okuyacak kitap ararken arada güzel bir refarans olduğu yadsınamz bir gerçektir.
