1950 yapımı, altında otto preminger imzası, başrollerinde de dana andrews ve gene tierney olan film-noir. türünün kesinlikle kambur üstü filmlerinden olmakla birlikte hakkında tek bir girdi bile olmaması şaşırtıcı.

40'lar ve 50'lerde yüzlerce kez anlatılmış bir hikaye anlatıyor bizlere usta yönetmen otto preminger. yasadışı bir kumarhanede bir cinayet işlenir, polis merkezinde "babasının oğlu" olarak nam salmış bir adam bu olayı soruşturmaya başlar, olaylar gelişir. hırsız babası gibi olmak istemeyen, öyle ki hırsızlığın tam zıttı polisliği bu yüzden seçen ama gene de "hırsız babanın oğlu işte" yaftasını yemekten kurtulamayan, hayatın-babasının kötü namının kendisinde yarattığı acı ve siniri kabadayılardan, çetelerden çıkaran bu polis merkeze konur ve hikayesi anlatılır. kaliteli bir film ama benzerlerini sıkça izlediğim için pek de zevk vermedi.

bu arada şu eski filmlerin hikaye çözüme kavuşur kavuşmaz sona ermelerine hastayım. uzatmıyorlar, kötü adam öldürülünce/yakalanınca, iyi adam da sevdiğine kavuşunca bitiyor film. günümüzde ise uzattıkça uzatıyorlar. hikaye sona ermiş, sonrası gereksiz, senaristin umurunda değil. yaz babam yaz. mesela en son gatsby'de karşılaştım bununla. uzattıkça uzattı herif. gatsby ölmüş, daisy başka bir yere gitmiş vs adam hala hikaye anlatma peşinde.
