beğenilmemesine şaştığım masters of horror bölümü. evet "korku" ile tek alakası zombilerin olması ama ben joe dante'yi bir gremlinlerle hatırlıyorum zaten, korku namına ne çekti hiçbir fikrim yok, ayrıca seride bunun kadar az korku-gerilim öğresi taşıyan (çok sayıda da taşıdığı öğeleri yüzüne gözüne bulaştıran) başka bölümler de var. lakin bir annenin "oğlumu savaşta kaybettim, hesabını sizden sormak istiyorum" demesi üzerine bir hükümet görevilisinin televizyonda "tek bir dileğim olsa, oğlunuz geri gelsin ve vatanı uğruna öldüğü için ne kadar mutlu olduğunu söyleyebilsin isterdim" açıklaması yapması ve ölen askerlerin zombi olarak geri dönüp "yoo, hiç de memnun değiliz biz, bu ne kadar manasız bir savaş lan" diye oy kullanmak istemesi gibi bir fikri başka nerde bulacaksın? gayet eğlenceli, ha bu seride değil de başka bir yerde karşımıza çıksaydı da olurdu elbet.

daha çok aile filmleri ile önce çıkan yönetmenimiz joe dante^{** *}korku sineması adına kariyerindeki en sert çıkışlarını 70 lerin sonu 80 lerin başında piranha ve the howling le yapmıştır.the twilight zone ve amazing stories tv dizilerinde yönettiği bir kaç bölümü de bir yana bırakırsak masters of horror başlığının altına yakıştıramadığız joe dante çıkardığı bu işle horror olmasa da politik eleştirinin kralını yapmış diyebiliriz.
seri içinde şimdiye kadar seyrettiğim bölümler içinde kişisel tercihim olarak ilk üçe girebilecek bu bölümde zombie kalıpları alt üst edilse de mezarlıkta geçen bir sahnede mezar taşlarının birine george a romero ismi yazılarak yapılan saygı duruşuna biz de saygı duruşunda bulunuyoruz.
oyunculuklar, hikaye anlatımı ve eleştiri tarzındaki başarı serinin bu bölümünü öne çıkararak 50 küsür dakika içine sıkıştırılmanın üzüntüsünü yaşatıyor.
