dave mustaine bu şarkının nakarat kısmında sanki fazla kasmış gibi, pek ilginç bir vokal ortaya çıkmış. ya zorlanmış, ya da bilerek yapmış bilemiyorum, ama ortaya hafif itici bir çalışma ortaya çıkmış (nakarat bazında). şarkının gerisi o kadar kötü sayılmaz. (bu şarkı risk'te olsaydı sırıtmazdı, bunu da belirtmek gerek.)

saturday night gave me sunday morning single'ı ile beni 90'ların başına götürmüş albüm. burning bridges'i baştan sona dinlediğimde, eski sevgilimi yıllar sonra yolda görmüş gibi hissettim. biraz yaşlanmış, anılar bulanıklaşmış, ama hala o 25 sene önce kalbini kaptırdığın kız arkadaş karşında..

albüm iş yapar mı bilemiyorum ama bana hissettirdiği şeyler için bile playliste eklemeye değer.

genel olarak james hetfield ve lars ulrich'e yazıldığını düşündüğüm şarkı. some kind of monster belgeselinde de james'in rehabilitasyona girmesi sırasında dave, lars'a mealen "beni kovmanızı 20 yıldır hazmetmeye çalışıyorum. benim çektiklerimi başarı olarak niteleyenler var elbette ama 2. sırada olmak hoşuma mı gidiyor sanıyorsunuz... benim 20 yıldır çektiğimi siz şimdi çekiyorsunuz... bu günü uzun süredir bekliyordum. ve hiçbir şekilde bitmiş değil, çünkü çok önemli biri burada yok. 1982'ye dönmeyi ve beni uyandırıp, ''dave, aa'ya gitmelisin.'' dediğinizi duymayı diler miydim? elbette. o şans için her şeyi verirdim." gibisinden şeyler söylemektedir. bu şarkı da sanki "orada olmayan adam"a yani james hetfield'a yazılmış gibi gelir bana hep, biraz sitemkar, biraz kızgın, "ah be abicim yakmasaydın köprüleri ne olurdu sanki" dermiş gibi...
