yardımcı rollerin en hakiki oyuncusu olarak sevsek de, 1955 tarihli marty'deki sade ve etkili oyunuyla en iyi erkek oyuncu dalında oscar'a uzanmışlığı vardır. sene 2010 ve hala oynuyor. helal olsun!

kontağı kapatıp gitmesiyle beraber şöyle bir kariyerine bakayım dedim. zihnimde yer etmiş bu kadar çok yapımda rol aldığını görmek şaşırttı, hem de hüzünlendirdi. marty ile oscar aldığını bilirdim ama adayların spencer tracy, james dean, frank sinatra ve james cagney olduğunu öğrenmek nasıl bir aktör olduğunu daha da net gösteriyor.
yaş icabı ilk olarak airwolf ile tanımıştım, yıllar sonra from here to eternity'yi izlerken "bu psikopat çavuş airwolf'taki tonton amcanın ta kendisi" diyerek keşfetmiştim aktörlüğünü.

kötü adam rollerinin aktörü olarak ünlenmiştir..fakat daha sonra romantik bir karakteri canlandırdığı filmle oscar kazanmıştır.

dün akşam atv ' de red nam filmi izlerken hatuna '' bu adam yaşıyor muydu '' diye hayretle sordum. o kadar uzun zamandır izlemememişim ki...

bu sabah radikal' den 95 yaşında böbrek yetmezliğinden vefat ettiğini öğrendim.

çocukluğumuzun yıldızlarından biri daha sonsuzluğa gitti.

airwolf isimli ucan kacan helikopterli dizide dominic isimli dombalak yardimci pilotu oynamistir kendisi.. on dislerinin ayrikligi hem kendisine ayri bir hava katar hem de helikopterin aerodinamik yapisina katkida bulunurdu..
