woody allen'ın oynadığı karakterin karısını öldürmesini (cinayet sırasında kadın kocasına hareket çekmektedir), ardından parçaladığı vücudunu new mexico'da bir yere gömmesini, bir süre sonra orta parmağı havada olan kesik ele takılan kör bir kadının mucizevi bir şekilde gözlerinin açılması sonucu bu elin "kutsal bakirenin eli" kabul edilmesini, bir relic olarak kilisede korunmasını ve el niño adlı bu küçük kasabanın ve rahibinin (david schwimmer) artan popülaritesini konu alan ironi dolu (yaran) bir hikayeye sahip keyifli bir eser. sırf woody allen'ın performansı için görülebilir tabii ki.

an itibari ile imdb sitesinde woody allen in rol aldığı filmler arasında en düşük nota sahip olanıdır. lakin trailer ı bile insanı kahkahalara boğmaya yetiyor. din temalı ironik espirileri tolore edemeyen bir kitlenin gazabına uğramış gibi görünüyor.
