8 yaşındaki Charlie, okuldan dönerken ağaçların arasında bir yavru ren geyiği bulur ve bunun Noel Baba’nın geyiklerinden biri olduğuna inanır. Geyik yavrusunu eve götüren Charlie’nin planı ona yılbaşına kadar bakmak ve Noel Baba geldiğinde ona iade etmektir. Charlie’nin ailesi ve çevresi ona pek yardımcı olmaz ve hatta sürekli alay ederler ama zamanla bu iyi niyetli çocuktan öğrenecekleri önemli bir ders vardır.
