2001 tarihli milcho manchevski filmi. galasi o yilin venedik film festivalinde yapilan film, hic begenilmemis ve sonrasinda da adindan pek soz ettirmemisti. gecen gun tesadufen dvd'sine rastgelene kadar ben de, "kayip film" oldugunu zannediyordum. meger "canli" ve "kanli"ymis..film, kanli 20. yuzyilin kanli bir oykusu. yuzyil basinda kovboylarin hukum surdugu "vahsi bati"da baslayip, makedonyali cetecilerin ve osmanli askerlerinin catistigi "vahsi dogu"ya, oradan da milenyum oncesi gunleri yasayan, vahsetin daha gizli ve kisisel boyutlara indirgendigi new york'a uzanan, atlamali kurgusu ile yonetmenin ilk filmi before the rain'i hatirlatan bir epik. vakur duruslu before the rain'in aksine, silah seslerinin, olen ve yaralananlarin girla gittigi, yer yer karikature kacan dozu kacmis bir siddetin sergilendigi bir "aksiyon" filmi. bir "spaghetti eastern"..
yalniz basina new york'taki dairesinde yasayan yasli ve "yasayan tarih" angela'nin [ ki rosemary murphy sahane bu rolde] , evini soymaya giren zenci hirsiza, silah zoruyla hayatini anlatmasiyla basliyor film. hikaye, biri dindar [joseph fiennes-elijah], digeri serseri [david wenham-luke] iki kovboy kardesin ayni fransiz fahiseye asik olmasiyla basliyor, fahisenin elijah'i secmesiyle, kendini yollara vuran luke, once paris'te, oradan da kovboyluk yaparak cil cil altinlara sahip olacagi vaadiyle makedonya daglarinda buluyor kendini ve olaylar gelisiyor..
ozellikle yaz aylarinda 40 derece sicakta makedonya daglarinda yapilan cekimler epey zorlu gecmis. ekipten pek cok kisi dizanteriye yakalanmis, kullanilan koyunlar hastalanmis. fakat inatci manchevski, hayatinin 5 yilini verdigi bu filmden vazgecmemis. elestiriler hakkinda kendisi ne dusundu bilinmez, ama bana kalirsa, biraz daginik olmasina ragmen, hic de kotu bir film degil. turkiye'de hic gosterilmez muhtemelen icerdigi turk karsiti olarak tanimlanabilecek ogelerden dolayi, fakat ozellikle before the rain'i izledikten sonra, "where on earth is milcho manchevski?"^* diyenler izlemeli..

before the rain'den sonra milcho manchevski'den cok sey beklemis oldugumu anlamama neden olmus filmdir. before the rain kadar basarili bir kurgudan sonra ne yazik ki dust deli sacmasi gibi geliyor. zaten bastan sacmaliklari hissetseniz de sirf meraktan sonuna kadar izlemek de insana bir sey vermiyor ne yazik ki. cok basarisiz. cok naif.

makedonya olaylarini bir kere ingiltere'yle baglantilayinca, ingilizce diyaloglar ekleyince iyi oldugunu gormus manchevski ve bu filmi de alakasiz bir sekilde amerika'ya baglamis. cok basit ve ucuz bir taktik. dogal olarak ise yaramamis.

bir de bu filmin yapiminda telef edilen hayvanlara aciyorum ben. her yerden kafatasi yarilmis, bacagi koparilmis,... bir suru sair sekilde sakatlanmis koyun, keci^* goruntusunden igreniyorsunuz. bir iki tane hayvancagiz kullanilsa guzeldi de bunca hayvanin neden bu sekilde telef edildigini cozemiyorum. hayvan haklari dernekleri neden sessiz kalmis acaba bu filmde?
