patron'un oldukça sakin takıldığı olgunluk ve dinginlik taşan albümü. yaylılar ve üflemelilerle birlikte sakin topraklara at sürmüştür.

patron'un yeni solo albümü. otobiyografisi born to run ve (bkz: springsteen on broadway) ile kendini belli eden "unumu eledim eleğimi astım ve olgunluk dönemi eserleri veriyorum artık" döneminin en yeni ürünü diyebiliriz. albümün sesörgüsü de bu hissiyat doğrultusunda sakin, bilge ve olgun tınlıyor. biraz da 2006 tarihli magic'e benzettim yaylıların sık kullanımı nedeniyle (ancak magic, bush döneminin karanlığı nedeniyle daha politik ve sert bir albümdü). western stars, tucson train ve there goes my miracle ilk dinleyişte dikkati çekenler. açıkçası the river box seti, broadway şovu ve otobiyografisi nedeniyle bu aralar springsteen'e doymuştum, bana verebileceği yeni bir şeyler olduğundan da şüpheliydim ama western stars tüm bu şüpheleri yaktı geçti. leziz bir albüm tam anlamıyla.ayrıca kendisinin devils and dust'tan sonra çıkardığı ilk solo lp yanılmıyorsam. arkasında e street band yok yani. kendisi kısa süre içinde yeni bir e street band albümü yazacağını ve 2020 için bir turne planladıklarını söylemiş bir röportajında. artık iyice güçten düşene kadar devam edecektir. zira kendisi moruklayana, iyice yaşlanana kadar devam etmek istediğini sıklıkla belirtiyor.edit: bir iki cümle ekledim.

kazayla sıkılırım falan diye korkarak dinlediğim albüm. kendi kulvarını geçtim çöle dönmüş 10'lu yıllarda yapılmış en iyi albüm.
