henüz hip hop kültürünün oluşmaya başlamasına 15 yıl varken bestelenmiş olan "subterranean homesick blues"un ilk rap şarkısı olduğunu düşünüyorum. funky bir ritmi olmasa da konuşarak söylenen sözleriyle ilk rap müzisyenlerine ilham kaynağı olmuş olmalı.
ayrıca bu şarkı ile ilgili ilginç bir bağlantı da radiohead'in a wolf at the door'unda vardır. iki şarkının söylenme tekniği arasındaki benzerlik dikkat çekicidir. "a wolf at the door"u ilk dinleyişimde bunun "subterranean homesick blues"un sözleri değiştirilmiş bir coverı olduğunu düşünmüştüm hatta.

bob dylan'ın 1967 seneli ilk greatest hits albümünde yer alan, siyah beyaz klibi yönetmen d a pennebaker'a ait olan drug temalı bir şarkısı. klipte bob dylan çerçevenin sağ tarafında durmuş elindeki bir yığın kartonu sırasıyla yere atarak şarkının sözlerini bize okutmaktadır. klibin sonuna doğru arkadan geçen sakallı cüppeli amca allen ginsberg'ün ta kendisidir.

ilk videonun cekildigi sarki denilebilir bu bob dylan sarkisi icin. 1965 ingiltere turunu filme ceken d a pennebaker, tur sirasinda bir gun otelin arkasinda bu sarkiyi filme cekmistir. bob dylanin elinde sarkinin kelimelerin oldugu kartlar bulunmaktadir, ve dylan sarkiyi soyledikce soyledigi kelimenin oldugu karti yere atmaktadir. arka planda da allen ginsberg gorunmekte, bir nevi saklabanlik yapmaktadir.

bringing it all back home albümünden nefis dylan parçası. 1969'da bir çok protesto eyleminin marşı haline gelmiş bir parça. weatherman underground gurubundan esinlenilerek adını koymuştur. son derece politik ve 60lar sonu amerikasının karışık haline cuk diye oturan bir parçadır.
