elektronik müziğin yaratıcılarından, alman topluluk.

bir diğer kaliteli elektronik prog devi kraftwerk kadar bilinmemelerinin sebebi, biraz daha zor idrak edilen çalışmalar yapmış olmalarıdır. az bilinmek derken yanlış anlaşılmasın, 70'li yılların müziğine ilgisi yüksek olan dinleyiciler grubu mutlaka biliyorlardır.
grubun müziği dönem dönem ciddi kırılmalarla farklılaşmıştır. ilk yıllarında çıkardıkları albümler space rock tadında, ambient dozu oldukça yüksek ve zor dinlenilen albümlerdir. bu dönemlerde grubun davulcusu olan klaus schulze'nin solo kariyerindeki müziğine benzer tadlar almak mümkündür. karanlık ve ağır çalışmaların yeraldığı ilk dönem albümlerini pink floyd'un ilk yıllarındaki çalışmalarına benzetmek mümkündür.
70'lerin ortalarına doğru topluluk belki de en yaratıcı kadrosunu oluşturarak rock öğelerini azaltıp elektronik tonlarını daha olgun ve derli toplu bir hale sokmuş, birbirinin peşi sıra klasik denebilecek albümler çıkarmıştır. edgar froese, christoph franke, peter baumann üçlüsünün ellerinden çıkma stratosfear, rubycon, ricochet gibi albümler icra ettikleri türün klasiklerindendir.
80'lere yaklaşırken topluluk force majeure adlı albümünde hem rock öğelerini yüksek tutmuş, hem de 80'lerde yakalayacağı tınıya ufak ufak geçiş yapmaya başlamıştır. bahsettiğim albümde baumann grupta değildir.
80'li yıllarla birlikte franke de topluluktan ayrılmış ve önceki döneme ait birçok güzel şeyi de beraberinde götürmüştür. bu yıllarda tangerine dream önceki yıllara nazaran oldukça fazla soundtrack bestelemiştir. eski yaratıcılığından uzaklaşmaya başlayan grubun üretkenliği artmış ve topluluk, sayılması zor albümlerin çıktığı bir döneme doğru ilerlemeye başlamıştır. bu yıllarda da underwater sunlight gibi güzel albümler ve canlı performanslar kaydedildiyse de eski çalışmaların oldukça gerisindedir grup.
90'larda froese'nin kaptanlığında ilerleyen ekibin takibi de zorlaşmıştır. 2000'lere kadar olan döneme ait çalışmalarını toplamaya, dinlemeye çalışırken oldukça sıkıntı çektiğimi söyleyebilirim. hepten new age türüne yönelmesi ve sıradanlaşmasıyla efsane dönemlerini mumla aratmıştır tangerine dream.
yine de baba denilen gruplardandır ve uçsuz bucaksız diskografisinde mutlaka birilerini yakalayacak eserlere sahiptir. dinleyince pişman olmayacağınız gruplardandır tangerine dream.

80'li yılların başında, beyazıt'ta meydanda plaktan kasete çoğaltılıp çoğaltılıp satılan (anca öyle bulunabiliyordu) albümleriyle hayatıma derin etki yapmış müzik grubudur. tabi varoş çocuğu olarak etrafımızdan gelen "bu ne lan?" sorularına, sözsüz müzik diye cevap veriyorduk.

acikcasi tam olarak ne kadar bilmiyorum, ama sanirsam zamaninda yesilcam'da bu abileri kim kesfettiyse, akabinde epey ekmegini yemisler muhtelif yapimlarda.

aylardır saplantı halinde dinliyorum bu grubu. encore, ricochet, stratosfear, cyclone bence sanatlarının zirvesi. bunlar arasında bir ayrım yapmak istemiyorum ama ricochet sanki bir adım bunların önünde. çok zorlansam da, bir boy farkıyla öyle olduğuna karar verdim :/
