ilk dönem kalmış olsaydım ciddi ciddi bırakacaktım. ama geçmişim!
şimdi halen devam etmekte olduğum gazetecilik doktora programında tez aşamasındayım. o programla buradaki yüksek lisans programını kıyaslarsam, 2 doktora dersi bir yüksek lisans dersine tekabül ediyor.
her derste 3 essay, 2 critical review (term paper), 1 midterm, 2 debate hazırlığı...
yemin ediyorum iflahınız kuruyor.
gerçi doktorada da okumamız çok oluyordu. her hafta binlerce sayfa...
buradaki müyendiz arkadaşları bizim programa alsak belki de onlar cinnet getirirdi. bilemedim.

iktisat esası ağır bassa da, disiplinlerarası^* bir bölümdür. dünyada yeni yeni yaygınlaşmaya başlayan bilim ve teknoloji politikaları alanının türkiye'deki şimdilik tek temsilcisidir (ingiltere'de spru var mesela, isviçre'de istp, harvard'ın belfer center'ı vs).

bilim ve teknolojinin gelişiminin, sanayi ve üretim odaklı kalkınmanın aslında sosyal süreçler olduğunu anlamanızı sağlar.

bölüm gibi bölüm, üniversite gibi üniversitedir.
mezun olup, bambaşka bir ülkede bambaşka çalışmalara daldığınızda bile size bir maille ulaşan can hocaları vardır.
bazen 'bu konu ilgini çekebilir diye düşündüm' derler, bazen 'çalışmanı wp olarak basıyoruz' derler...
bir yolunu bulur sizi hatırladıklarını gösterirler.
akademik hayatımda yaptığım en doğru karar bu bölümdü.
sakın ama sakın tereddüt yaşamayın başvururken.

stps: science and technology policy studiesprogramının türkiye'deki ilk örneği. benzeri bir bölüm itü de de var. interdisipliner bir bölüm olup çok çeşitli lisans programlarından öğrenci kabul edebilmektedir. ekonomi, sosyoloji, işletme, mühendislik, siyaset bilimi, temel bilimlergibi alanlardan gelen öğrenciler, bu alanda uzmanlaşmak istiyorlarsa bu program beklentilerini karşılayacaktır. tezli ve tezsiz iki seçeneği vardır. çok çeşitli alanlarda tezler yürütülebilmektedir. visual culture'dan software engineering'e , innovation theories'den intellectual property rights'a kadar.
