stranger than fiction filminde oyle bir sahnede girer ki bu $arki, harold adina "oh yeah" diyip sevinirsiniz. ya da biz cabuk gaza gelen tipler oldugumuzdan ayaga firlayip oyle dedik, sevindik falan. bi norvecli ya da finlandiyali olsa tepki vermezdi belki. o filmde caldigi sahne icin (ki izlerken bizi cok gaza getirdigini yinelemek isterim) ;

wreckless eric'in besteleyip 1978 yılında piyasaya sürdüğü, stranger than fiction filminden önce çok çok az bilinen bir hazine. the monkees de 1987 yılında coverlamıştır. sözleri yeter bu şarkının:

"daha gençken
annem söylemişti,
bu dünyada sana uygun sadece bir kız var oğlum
ve muhtemelen tahitide filan yaşıyor"

gitar çalmaya başlayan birinin ilk çaldığı şarkılardandır.
stranger than fiction filminden çalınmasının nedeni de ana karakterin kendinde gitar alması ve çalabileceği tek parçanın bu olmasıdır. bu şarkıyı çalması onun aslında gitarı yeni çalmaya başladığını gösteren bir ipucudur.
die toten hosen versiyonu da oldukça hoştur.

stranger than fiction filmi sayesinde tanıştığım güzel şarkı. şu günlerde telefon melodime ayarladım. her çalışında tebessüm etmeden duramıyorum..

wreckless eric -ki aslı adı eric goulden- olan zatı muhterem 1974 yılında sözleri bana oldukça ilginç gelen bir şarkı yazar. bazı şarkılar vardır ki onların sözleri daha çok bir hikaye anlatıdır. bu yüzden bazı söz yazarları aslında hikaye anlatıcıdır. misal, sting böyledir. wreckless eric de böyledir. whole wide world şarkısında bir hikaye anlatır, dinleyicilerine.
hikayede annesi çocuğa, onun için dünyada sadece bir kız olduğunu onun da tahiti'de yaşadığını söyler. çocuk da o muhteşem kirlenmemiş aklıyla onu tüm dünyada arayacağını ve nerede saklandığını bulacağını söyler.
şarkıyla ilk tanışmam bir dersten kaçıp marc forster'ın sıradışı filmi stranger than fiction'ına gitmem sayesinde oldu.
hala büyük bir keyifle dinlerim.
